Collection: Winter Minerals

Get Winter Ready

By prioritising your cows' nutritional needs you're not just feeding animals, you're fuelling the engine of your farm's success. The right nutrition through the dry period and around calving supports milk production, reproductive health and a strong immune system, helps lower the risk of metabolic problems like milk fever and grass tetany, and keeps your herd in the game for longer.

Everything here is picked by our nutritionists for the housing and pre-calving season, from pre-calver minerals and boluses to Himalayan rock salt and housed beef and sheep minerals.

Your pre-calving checklist

  • Start pre-calver minerals 6–8 weeks before calving. Make sure cows get enough magnesium, calcium and phosphorus, and keep potassium down to help calcium absorption.
  • Mag flakes 3–4 weeks before calving to help reduce the risk of grass tetany and milk fever.
  • Trace element boluses at drying off or pre-calving for a steady supply of copper, iodine, cobalt, zinc and selenium.
  • Himalayan rock salt in front of dry cows at all times. It's self-limiting and can be fed all year round.
  • Calcium boluses ready for older or higher-risk cows at calving.

Customised mineral plans

Every herd is different. Our team will look at your herd's age, breed, production stage and forage quality and put together a mineral plan that fits how you farm, with support through the season.
