Fluconix is a highly effective treatment for common liver fluke (Fasciola hapatica). It is made for use in both sheep and cattle. The main active ingredient in Fluconix is nitroxinil, a powerful flukicide that was the active ingredient in the popular trodax injection. Scientific studies in vitro and in vivo have shown Fluconix to be an excellent means of killing and controlling fluke in livestock. The mechanism of action results from the uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation. Fluconix is also active against triclabendazoleresistant F. hepatica.
